Your home contents and personal effects are covered for accidental loss or damage, including while they’re temporarily away from your residence. If you have to make a claim, you're covered for accidental loss or damage, including repairs or replacement cover for most items. Automatic benefits include, Alternative Accommodation, Contents in storage, Contents in Transit and Home Office coverage.
If you have family members away from home attending a learning institution such as university or boarding school, we’ll provide up to $5000 cover for their belongings.
Personal belongings such as luggage, clothes and jewellery that you take with you while you’re away on holiday in Australia or the Pacific Islands are covered for up to $5000 as long as your trip does not exceed 3-weeks in total.
We provide up to $10,000 cover for home office furniture and equipment.
We’ll cover your legal liability if you accidentally damage someone else’s property or if you accidentally injure somebody, anywhere in New Zealand. Provided you check with us first, we’ll also cover your defence costs.
Echelon Contents cover provides many more benefits. These include a stress payment of $2000 if you have to make a claim for total loss of your contents, cover for keys and locks, and a benefit that will replace the contents of your freezer if they perish due to a freezer breakdown or if the power is accidentally disconnected.
